About Wendyl Nissen

For more than 25 years Wendyl Nissen has been at the front of the media field, first as an eager young newspaper journalist, then as the influential editor of a string of high-profile women's magazines (Woman's Day, NZ Woman's Weekly, Cleo, Family Circle).

She has also worked as a television producer, making documentaries and the panel advice show How's Life. She writes a lifestyle column the Herald on Sunday and the very popular Wendyl Wants to Know column for the Weekend Herald which analyses popular processed foods. She also writes an Agony Aunt column and a Nana's Pantry column for the NZ Woman's Weekly  and sends out a weekly email newsletter to nearly 9000 people. Wendyl is also a weekly commentator on current affairs and the media on Auckland's top-rating news radio station Newstalk ZB.

Nine years ago, Wendyl gave up her stressful corporate career to work from home and in the process discovered that there was a domestic goddess lurking within. She now has five hens, a productive organic garden, cleans her house with baking soda and vinegar, bakes her own bread, and in her spare time experiments with her expanding repertoire of natural cleaning, beauty and pet products. Her company Wendyl's Green Goddess was established two years ago and features a range of all natural cleaning products.

When she can, Wendyl escapes to her 1968 caravan which lives at the beach.

Wendyl is married to writer Paul Little, they have four adult children, a teenage daughter and two grand-daughters.
